SaaS Hosting and Hostage
Yesterday,
BScaler released a new version of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), called SaaS
Plus™ to the market with unique and revolutionary features.
As SaaS
is fast becoming the hottest among the next-generation-software categories,
many current SaaS vendors and legacy software providers in disguise are now, in
effect, SaaS-ifying their outmoded solutions in an attempt to ride with the
wave.
SaaS
solutions are supposed to release customers from ‘vendor lock-in’ by removing
the power that legacy software providers held over their customers after the
purchase: Customers no longer have to make substantial up front investments for
licensing, installation and the never-ending maintenance updates and security
patches etc..
With SaaS
payment by subscription, switching software vendors in theory is much easier.
“But is it really so?” asks BScaler.
“Just ask
any SaaS vendor this basic question before committing, “What will we have if we
decide to walk away from the SaaS service?”
Without an
Appliance Purchase Option, customers will end up with nothing when they move on. According to BScaler, conventional
SaaS payment by subscription simply does not provide customers with such a
luxury.
Anticipating
such criticism for SaaS solutions in general and for SMBs in particular,
BScaler invented SaaS Plus™ to be:
- Truly browser-based
- Completely integrated AS IS on a unified database, combining sales, service, operations and finance with purchase order and inventory management seamlessly in one independent platform
- Three payment options: 1. Pay by Subscription (conventional SaaS), 2. Appliance and
3. Appliance and eManage® by BScaler.
“Do not be a hostage to any vendor, be it the legacy
software or new SaaS suppliers”, BScaler declares.
With SaaS Plus™, BScaler proclaims, customers regain their
God-given rights to switch vendors if they are unhappy with the features and
service back-up. SaaS Plus™ Options 2&3 enable customers to have their own
servers either at their premise or at BScaler’s server farm
