SaaS and ROI or Subscription vs. Appliance Purchase
Yesterday,
BScaler released an enhanced version of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), called
SaaS Plus™ in response to SaaS Subscription limitations voiced by customers.
Apart
from the fear of having nothing to fall back on if a customer changes SaaS
vendors, return on investment (ROI) is also important for enterprises with 50++
users.
Unless it
is fully integrated AS IS, like BScaler’s
ERM total business solutions, conventional SaaS Subscription, according to the
Company’s Press Statement, makes no difference in the IT costs for enterprises,
even the smaller ones. If a medium-sized business needs 10 programs to run and
50 users at $50 each per month, this amounts to $300,000 a year for a SaaS
subscription, not even counting the costs of integrating the 10 solutions.
“Simple
arithmetic would show clearly that an enterprise with more than 100 users of
BScaler’s total business solution will be much better off buying an appliance
server and enjoying a 100% return on the investment after the first year,” says
BScaler.
Anticipating
such criticism for SaaS limitations in general and for SMBs in particular,
BScaler invented SaaS Plus™ to be:
- Truly browser-based with access from anywhere via the Internet 24/7.
- Completely integrated AS IS on a unified database, seamlessly combining Sales, Finance and
Accounting, Procurement, Inventory Management and more in one independent
platform.
- Having 3 payment options:
- Subscription (conventional SaaS),
- Owning the Appliance and
- Owning the Appliance Hosted by BScaler.
SaaS
Plus™ Options 2&3 enable customers to choose having their own server either
at their premises or at BScaler’s server farms.
Either way saves time and integration costs. Most importantly, once the
number of users reaches a certain level, having their own server makes good
investment sense.
Currently
very few, if any, of the true SaaS vendors offer all these 3 Payment Options to
customers, according to BScaler.
